High Steaks

The increasing prevalence of extraordinarily high-quality beef such as wagyu is elevating meat-lovers’ expectations to new and higher levels. Diners now know just  how exceptional beef can taste when time and care is taken over its production. To cater to this increased demand, a collection of chic eateries has emerged on the culinary scene, all of them dedicated to serving the ultimate steak – aging, marinating and cooking it to perfection. Rodeo Grill at the Beach Rotana (pictured)was Abu Dhabi’s very first steak restaurant and remains one of the best with its marble-graded wagyu cuts while the Fairmont Bab Al Bahr restaurant boasts a Michelin-star chef at Marco Pierre White Steakhouse and Grill. Another spot which stands out is the fun-filled Chamas Churrascaria & Bar at the InterContinental Abu Dhabi. Here, diners not only eat all the deliciously grilled meat they can, there’s also an exceptional South American party atmosphere heightened further by the live band that performs every night. If a more tranquil atmosphere is called for, then 55 & 5th at the St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort cannot be beaten for an intimate dining experience. The steak is pretty outstanding too, having been aged in a constant humidity and temperature while steeping in Himalayan rock salt. Read on to find your perfect match…

Chamas Churrascaria & Bar

If you haven’t experienced the delights of the Brazilian churrascaria then you are in for a treat at Chamas Churrascaria & Bar. There’s a huge range of beef, lamb and chicken marinated and barbequed on huge skewers waiting to be sampled. Passadores circulate the freshly cooked fare, carving slices of your desired grill straight onto your plate. 55&5th, The Grill

There’s a distinct feeling of exclusivity at 55&5th, The Grill with its intimate setting and small number of tables. Named after the address of the original St. Regis Hotel in New York, the classic lounge and restaurant features vaulted ceilings, low lighting, high-backed leather chairs and dark wooden floors.  Innovative appetisers look almost too beautiful to eat with elaborately layered ingredients, however it’s the grass-fed beef from the aging room that simply cannot be overlooked.
